Even after securing the championship title, Elvas U-18 showcased their quality and reaffirmed why they are the best team in the competition. In a highly contested match, the Alentejan side displayed an offensive and efficient style of football in the second half, celebrating yet another dominant victory in front of their supporters. The 4-0 win against SC Campomaiorense, played at Campo de Jogos da Terrugem on Saturday, March 29, marked the second leg of the AFP U-18 District Championship semi-finals.

First Half: Dominance Without Conversion

Elvas started the match with an attacking mindset, taking control of the game and creating multiple opportunities. However, they struggled to break through Campomaiorense’s solid defensive line, with the opposing goalkeeper delivering an outstanding performance, denying every attempt from the home team.

Masterstroke in the Second Half: Elvas Secures the Victory

In the second half, Elvas unleashed their full attacking power. In the 64th minute, Guilherme Branco opened the scoring with a well-placed left-footed strike inside the box, giving his team the lead. The goal boosted Elvas’ confidence, and in the 81st minute, Lucas Ventura doubled the advantage with a precise finish after an impressive individual play. The home side didn’t stop there: in the 89th minute, Gabriel Massaneiro made it 3-0 with a powerful shot, and in stoppage time, at 91 minutes, Sebastian Vido sealed the 4-0 victory with a simple tap-in after a well-delivered cross into the box.

Elvas Secures Qualification for the Final and the AF Portalegre Cup

With this commanding victory, Elvas has officially secured their place in the finals of the AF Portalegre Cup. The club’s U-18 squad has been one of the standout teams of the season, showcasing high-quality football, consistency, and exceptional technical and tactical superiority on the pitch. Now, with the final on the horizon, the Alentejan team is determined to push forward, continue their winning streak, and pursue more silverware with the ambition of lifting the AF Portalegre Cup.
