Racing to Liga 3: O Elvas, Fátima, Lusitano de Évora, and Amora Compete in the Promotion Phase

With the regular phase of the Campeonato de Portugal completed, the four teams that will compete in the much-awaited Promotion Phase are now defined. From Serie C, O Elvas CAD and CD Fátima move forward; from Serie D, Lusitano de Évora and Amora FC advance.

Four historic teams in Portuguese football, four ambitious projects, and only two spots available to secure promotion to Liga 3 for the next season.

O Elvas: The Best Defense in the Nation and a Path of Excellence

Among the four finalists, O Elvas CAD arrives as the clear leader of Serie C with the best defense in all national championships. The Alentejo side finished the regular phase with 65 points, from 20 wins, 5 draws, and only 1 loss in 26 rounds — an outstanding record.

The blue and gold team’s journey has been marked by consistency, ambition, and a tremendous collective commitment. They conceded only 10 goals, keeping 18 clean sheets, which reflects one of the most solid defenses in recent seasons of the Campeonato de Portugal. In addition to defensive security, the balance in all sectors allowed the team to dominate their group with authority and competitive maturity.

Closing the regular phase, O Elvas secured a 1-0 victory against Arronches e Benfica, with a goal by Franco Almara in the dying seconds (90’+6), finishing a phase that was dominated almost from start to finish.

Fátima, Lusitano, and Amora: Strong Contenders

While O Elvas boasts the best record of the regular season, the other contenders also bring solid arguments to the table in their fight for promotion. Fátima, the second-place team in Serie C, secured their qualification with a one-point advantage, benefiting from direct results and consistency in the final rounds.

In Serie D, Lusitano de Évora won the phase with authority, while Amora secured second place in a fierce battle until the end. Both teams have tradition and experience in decisive stages, ensuring a final phase full of balance and excitement.

A Decisive Phase with Much at Stake

The Promotion Phase to Liga 3 kicks off in the coming days and promises high-level clashes between four clubs that believe in their sporting projects. With six rounds to go, every point will be crucial in the race for the two spots available in Liga 3.

O Elvas enters with reinforced confidence and the support of a passionate fanbase, determined to follow this journey to the end. The story continues to be written – and the next chapter will be decisive.
