Yesterday, December 18th, the Campo Pedro Barrena hosted the second edition of Goalkeeper Day, organized by the José Ferreira Goalkeeper Academy. Starting at 6:00 PM, the event introduced new dynamics and further solidified its importance in the football scene of Elvas.
An Event That Unites the Community
One of the key highlights of this edition was the participation of young goalkeepers from the youth academy of CF “Os Elvenses”, marking a moment of collaboration between the city’s two clubs. This integration emphasized the Goalkeeper Day’s role as a platform for unity and knowledge-sharing, transcending rivalries and fostering growth for all athletes involved.
Excellence in Training and Friendly Atmosphere
As in the previous edition, the training sessions were led by José Ferreira and his team of coaches, supported by the senior team’s goalkeepers and members of the technical staff from O Elvas SAD. With a focus on technical, tactical, and mental development, young goalkeepers honed their skills and absorbed valuable lessons on and off the pitch. Parents, guardians, and coaches were also present, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
Next Edition in January
With another successful edition concluded, the José Ferreira Goalkeeper Academy is already preparing for the next session in January. Expectations are high for more innovations and the continuation of a project that is becoming a benchmark for goalkeeper development in the region.
Goalkeeper Day has reaffirmed itself as a platform of excellence for nurturing young talents while strengthening the ties between clubs, families, and the football community in Elvas.
