The U18 team of O Elvas Clube Alentejano de Desportos, Futebol SAD secured a commanding victory this Saturday by defeating Eléctrico FC 5-0 in the third round of the AF Portalegre District Championship. With this result, the blue and gold team claimed the top spot in the standings, achieving three wins in as many matches, scoring 18 goals and conceding only two.
Dominant Performance in an Inspired Afternoon
The first half saw the team, led by coach Bruno Tomé, in complete control. Despite creating numerous opportunities, only Simão Cordeiro found the back of the net, giving the team a slim lead at halftime in the Pedro Barrena Field.
In the second half, the young knights upped the tempo and demonstrated why they are the league leaders. Tomás Conceição started the goal spree, followed by Sebastian Vido, João Azenhas, and, to cap it off, another goal from Tomás Conceição.
Integration with SUB-19 Strengthens the Squad
The SUB-18 team benefited from the inclusion of four players from the SUB-19 squad, which competes in the II Division of the National Championship. Tomás Conceição, Gonçalo Palmeiro, Gabriel Massaneiro, and Sebastian Vido played pivotal roles in the victory. Gabriel and Sebastian had previously participated in games with the Juniores B team, showcasing the effectiveness of the club’s player integration model across different age groups.
A Pathway to Senior Football Success
This system of player transition not only bolsters the SUB-18 and SUB-19 teams but also establishes a solid pathway to the senior team. A clear example of this is Bernardo Soares, a SUB-19 player who participated in a training session with the senior squad last Friday, highlighting the club’s commitment to developing players for all levels of competition.
With a flawless start to the season, the Juniores B of O Elvas remain steadfast in their pursuit of the district championship title, emphasizing not only individual talent but also teamwork and an integration strategy that strengthens the club’s entire structure.
